Ingredients

500g beef sirloin, thinly sliced

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch ginger, grated

1 bell pepper, thinly sliced (any color)

1 cup broccoli florets

1 small onion, sliced

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon sugar

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooked jasmine rice or noodles, for serving

Instructions

Marinate the beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced beef, oyster sauce, soy sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Prepare the stir-fry sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the sesame oil, sugar, and a splash of water. Set aside.

Heat the oil: In a large frying pan or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.

Cook the beef: Add the marinated beef to the pan in a single layer, letting it sear for about 1-2 minutes without stirring. Once browned, stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until cooked through. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

Sauté the vegetables: In the same pan, add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and sliced onion. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Then, add the bell pepper and broccoli florets, stirring occasionally until the vegetables are tender yet crisp, about 4-5 minutes.

Combine: Return the beef to the pan. Pour the stir-fry sauce over the beef and vegetables. Toss everything together to coat evenly and cook for another 2 minutes.

Serve: Serve hot over jasmine rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds or chopped green onions if desired.
