Ingredients

1 pound of flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

4 cups broccoli florets

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon ginger, finely minced

1/4 cup beef broth

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 teaspoons sugar

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Cooked jasmine rice, for serving

Instructions

In a medium bowl, combine the thinly sliced flank steak with soy sauce and cornstarch. Mix well to coat the beef evenly. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and sear for about 1-2 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

In the same wok, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and ginger, stir-frying for about 30 seconds until aromatic.

Add the broccoli florets to the wok and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp.

Return the seared beef to the pan and pour in the beef broth, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, rice vinegar, and optional red pepper flakes. Toss everything together and allow it to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, letting the sauce thicken slightly.

Serve the beef and broccoli hot over steamed jasmine rice for a complete meal.
