Ingredients

8 oz penne pasta

2 cups broccoli florets

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup chicken broth

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh basil, for garnish

Red pepper flakes, for optional spice

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Add the broccoli florets in the last 2 minutes of cooking. Drain and set aside.

Cook the Chicken: In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Season the diced chicken breasts with salt and pepper, and add them to the skillet. Cook for about 6-8 minutes, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.

Sauté the Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the skillet with the cooked chicken. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Make the Creamy Sauce: Pour in the chicken broth and bring it to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low, then stir in the heavy cream, Italian seasoning, and half of the Parmesan cheese. Stir until the sauce is smooth and creamy.

Combine: Add the cooked penne and broccoli to the skillet. Toss everything together until the pasta is coated with the creamy sauce. If the sauce is too thick, you can add a little more chicken broth to achieve the desired consistency.

Serve: Remove from heat and sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese over the top. Garnish with fresh basil and red pepper flakes, if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
