Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine or penne pasta

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, sliced into strips

2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 medium onion, finely chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 bell pepper (red or green), sliced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup chicken broth

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the fettuccine or penne according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Chicken: In a bowl, season the sliced chicken breast with Cajun seasoning, ensuring all pieces are well coated.

Sauté the Chicken: In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add the seasoned chicken strips. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Cook the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and sliced bell pepper. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are soft. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.

Make the Sauce: Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up any bits stuck to the skillet. Bring to a simmer, then stir in the heavy cream and let it cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

Combine Ingredients: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.

Add Chicken and Pasta: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and add the drained pasta. Toss everything together until the pasta is evenly coated in the creamy sauce.

Serve: Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving. Enjoy your creamy Cajun chicken pasta hot!
