Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

8 slices of ham (preferably prosciutto or Black Forest)

8 slices of Swiss cheese

1 cup all-purpose flour

3 large eggs

2 cups breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

1 cup chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup shredded Swiss cheese (for the sauce)

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons olive oil

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound them to about 1/2-inch thickness using a meat mallet.

Layer the Filling: Take each chicken breast and season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Lay 2 slices of ham and 2 slices of Swiss cheese on each breast. Roll the chicken tightly, starting from one end and securing it with toothpicks.

Bread the Chicken: Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes. In the first, place the flour. In the second, beat the eggs. In the last, combine the breadcrumbs with a pinch of salt and pepper. Dredge each chicken roll in flour, dip it into the egg, and then coat it thoroughly with breadcrumbs.

Cook the Chicken: In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the chicken rolls and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Once browned, transfer the chicken rolls to a greased baking dish and finish cooking in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

Make the Creamy Swiss Cheese Sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the chicken broth and heavy cream. Allow it to simmer for about 5 minutes. Stir in the Dijon mustard and shredded Swiss cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve: Once the chicken is fully cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Slice the chicken rolls and serve drizzled with the creamy Swiss cheese sauce. Garnish with fresh parsley.
