Ingredients

4 slices of thick brioche or challah bread

2 large eggs

1/2 cup whole milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

2 tablespoons brown sugar

A pinch of salt

Maple syrup (for serving)

Fresh fruits (strawberries, bananas, or blueberries for garnish)

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined.

Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt the butter.

Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring each side is fully coated and allowing the excess to drip off.

Once the butter is sizzling, place the soaked bread onto the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and slightly crispy.

While the French toast is cooking, sprinkle the brown sugar over the cooking side before flipping. This will create a delicious caramelized crust.

Flip the slices and cook an additional 2-3 minutes until the second side is golden and caramelized.

Remove the French toast from the skillet and keep warm. Repeat with the remaining slices.

Serve warm, drizzled with maple syrup and topped with fresh fruits.
