Ingredients

1 pound ground turkey

1-2 fresh jalapeños, finely chopped (seeds removed for less heat)

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (gluten-free if desired)

1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 cup finely chopped red onion

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon ground cumin

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 tablespoon olive oil (for grilling)

Burger buns (whole grain or regular)

Toppings: Lettuce, tomato slices, avocado, cilantro, and additional jalapeño slices

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, chopped jalapeños, breadcrumbs, cheddar cheese, red onion, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, ground cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Form the turkey mixture into 4 equal-sized patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each to prevent puffing during cooking.

Heat a grill or skillet over medium heat and add olive oil. Once hot, place the turkey patties on the grill.

Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and they are golden brown.

While the burgers are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill until lightly golden.

Assemble your burgers by placing each turkey patty on a bun and adding your favorite toppings: lettuce, tomato, avocado slices, and any extra jalapeño slices for an added kick.

Optional: Drizzle with a little extra Dijon mustard or hot sauce for an extra layer of flavor.

Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Jalapeño Turkey Burgers!
