Ingredients

3 ripe bananas

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

3 tablespoons brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

A pinch of salt

Chopped walnuts or pecans (optional, for garnish)

Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Bananas: Peel the bananas and slice them diagonally into 1/2-inch thick pieces.

Heat the Pan: In a large non-stick skillet, melt the butter over medium heat until bubbly and slightly golden.

Add Sugar and Cinnamon: Sprinkle the brown sugar and ground cinnamon into the melted butter. Stir well to combine, allowing the sugar to dissolve slightly.

Cook the Bananas: Gently add the sliced bananas to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 2 minutes on one side until they begin to caramelize, then carefully flip them over.

Add Flavor: After flipping, drizzle the vanilla extract over the bananas and sprinkle a pinch of salt. Continue to cook for another 1-2 minutes, until bananas are golden and coated in the syrup.

Serve: Remove from the heat and place the bananas on serving plates. If desired, garnish with chopped walnuts or pecans and fresh mint leaves for an extra crunch and color.

Enjoy: Serve warm as a delicious dessert, breakfast topping, or a sweet snack on its own!
