Ingredients

2 large red onions, thinly sliced

2 tablespoons sumac spice

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon sea salt

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1 tablespoon chopped parsley (for garnish)

Pinch of black pepper

Instructions

In a large bowl, combine the sliced red onions with olive oil, sea salt, and black pepper. Toss until the onions are well coated.

Sprinkle the sumac over the onion mixture. The sumac will add a tangy flavor to the onions. Toss again to evenly distribute the spice.

Drizzle the fresh lemon juice over the onions, ensuring they are flavored throughout. Toss gently once more.

Let the onions sit for at least 30 minutes at room temperature to allow the flavors to meld together. If you have time, letting them sit for 1-2 hours will enhance the taste even more.

Once the onions have marinated, taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

Before serving, garnish with freshly chopped parsley for added color and flavor.
